Men
want to win and feel like winners. They don't
want to be corrected, criticized or conquered
by you. So what's a girl to do? Take the sweetness
approach. This doesn't mean you have doormat
written on your forehead, either. It means that
you get what you want and he feels he is winning.
Winning,
in guy talk, means feeling admired and respected.
Since more than anything else, men want to win,
let them win. Guys aren't always right even
though they think they are. You don't always
have to make them right, just don't make them
wrong. Here's how:
- Reinforce
what he does right because that makes him
feel admired. DON'T criticize what he does
wrong.
- Praise
or approve his actions because that makes
him feel admired/respected. DON'T criticize,
blame, disapprove, condemn.
- Surrender
the battle. That makes him feel respected
and you win the war. DON'T
conquer or even think of trying to obtain
by force. Remember how caged animals can be!
