The
people you meet online, are NOT
always what they appear to be. A lot of people put on an act, and
are not genuine. Be careful, guard your private info, and your heart!
NEVER give out phone numbers, or
any other private info right from the start. A sincere person will
understand, and even respect your being so careful. If they make
fun of you not offering such info, it might be time to look elsewhere!
You can still talk, try chatrooms offering voice chats (Excite,Yahoo,
and others offer fine Voice Chats..for FREE!!!)
The biggest
hazard online, is the person of your dreams on the other end,
is MARRIED, or otherwise involved with someone!!! There is no tried
and true way to be sure. But a few warning signs to watch for might
help.
a) If you have advanced to talking off-line, and they can
only call you..(Some exceptions may be children at home, or living
with family members, that prefer their number not be given out.
Or they have a very busy schedule.) Go slow, be
sure before losing your heart.
b) They refuse to give out any private info about themselves,
but request yours.
Remember
you have a life, and so do they. Don't become dependent on their
presence, to keep you smiling. Loneliness is terrible, BUT keep
in touch with your off-line friends, keep going out and enjoying
life. The new people you meet online, are part of your life, not
ALL of it.
The "L"
(love) word is
thrown around all to easily on-line, it is often truely felt, but
the old expression, "The mind is willing
but the body is weak" is very true today. So many online
are lonely, trapped in a dead end relationship, but can't find a
way out. So they look to fill the void. If you know this upfront,
and can deal with that, okay, but most get hurt in the long run.
The old fashion approach of meeting, dating, and going out in real
life is still the best way to do it!
Cyber Sex,
is hollow at best,
and empty. Don't sell out your heart for a "Quick Fix",
like drugs the momentary plus, pales against the let downs after.
Some say it is a victimless crime. The heart is
always the victim!
Course
I could be wrong, I'm no expert..
